When To Bring In Your Child? What Is Involved In The First Visit?

Deciding when to bring in your child for their first dental visit can always be tricky! However it is usually recommended to bring them in a year or within 6months of their first tooth erupts.

The first dental visit is usually a short one where yourself and the child get to meet the dental health professional and get comfortable with the surroundings.

In some cases the parent may be asked or may want to sit with the child in the dental chair.

During the examination process the dental clinician will use a mirror and possibly some cold air t have a look into your child’s mouth, to count the teeth present and check to see the condition and position of the teeth. If your child is responding well and feels comfortable we may proceed to cleaning the teeth.

Other this the dental clinician may talk to you and your child about their oral hygiene routine, dietary factors and any other factors which may play a major role in their dental health.
