Did you know that certain drinks can increase your risk of developing dental decay and/or dental erosion?
The increasing range of popular fruit juices, soft drinks, sports drinks, and flavored mineral waters these days can be for your teeth. Especially during the hotter months when we tend to drink more you’d be surprised to realize how much harm you are actually causing your teeth.
Most of our favorite sweet drinks can cause decay or holes in our teeth simply due to high sugar content and potential for it o stick to our teeth. Secondly results in acid wear/erosion. Which further on can cause tooth sensitivity and other issues.
It’s always important to remember that these drinks should only be consumed sometimes/during special occasions and/or with meals. After drinking any sweet or carbonated drink please ensure to drink water or to rinse the mouth out to neutralize the acid and to wash out the presence of any sugar in the mouth. Thus lowering your risk of dental decay or erosion. For more information please speak to our dental health professionals at your next appointment.
