What are Veneers?

Veneers is a thin piece of porcelain that is made to recreate the natural look of teeth. Veneers also provide resilience and strength that can be comparable to the natural tooth enamel.

This custom made porcelain is contoured to your teeth then bonded to the original tooth. Veneers can be used to correct small misalignments or close gaps. They are usually a cosmetic solution which can help brighten their teeth or correct issues such as discoloration, chips or fractures.

Before you get your veneers your gums must be healthy. You will need to treat any disease or decay before veneers are placed on your teeth.

If you’re known to clench or grind your teeth it might not be the best to get veneers. Because veneers are very thin, grinding or clenching can cause them to chip or break. However you the dentist could recommend you to wear a nightguard to protect your veneers.

Veneers are known to come loose over time therefore you might need to get new ones later.
